Founded in 1971 by Fritz Schroeder, ABC provided a uniquely qualified and accredited resource for commissioning of building services systems. ABC expanded rapidly, establishing offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth in response to the rapid growth of large scale office developments and resultant complexity of building services systems at that time.
This technical capability together with a well recognized reputation of delivering timely results often in compressed time frames took the company to Hong Kong to commission systems installed in The Hong Kong Mass Transit Tunnel as well as Embassies in Kuala Lumpur and other Malaysian cities.
In the early Eighties, Lend Lease recognised the role specialist commissioning services played in the successful delivery of its developments and ABC was purchased and integrated as one of the corporation’s groups for several years. When Lend Lease commenced divesting its interests in technical divisions several years later, Fritz Schroeder repurchased ABC.
